- Bernat blanket yarn in 2 colors
- 6.5 mm crochet hook

Mr – magic ring
Inc – increase
Sc – single crochet
Hdc – half double crochet
BLO – back loops only
Ch – chain
Dc – double crochet

Notes
The hat and the ruffles are worked completely in half double crochet (This includes the increases: you don’t do a sc inc for the hat and ruffles, you do a hdc inc. This means 2 hdc in the same stitch. However, you do use single crochet for the fox ears.
Rounds17 – 19 (ruffles) the more frequently you increase, the curlier your ruffles will be. If you want extra-curly ruffles, increase every few stitches (ex hdc 2, inc). If you want mire subtle ruffles, increase less frequently (ex hdc 6, inc).
The size of the hat will be different depending on the size of your head, the yarn/hook you use, gets.

For extra ruffly ruffles, alternate between [hdc 1, inc],[hdc 2, inc] and [hdc 3, inc] throughout the round.
For more subtle ruffles, alternate between [hdc 5,inc], [hdc 6, inc] and [hdc 7, inc] throughout the round.
Sl st and FO. Weave in the end securely.

With orange yarn:
Rnd 1: 6 sc into a Mr (6)
Rnd 2: inc x 6 (12)
Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Rnd 4-6: sc around (18)
Sl st and FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.
With white yarn:
Rnd 1: ch 4
Rnd 2: sc into the 2nd ch from the hook. Hdc into the 3rd ch from the hook. Dc into the 4th (last) ch from the hook.
Leave a tail for sewing.
Assembly
Fold the orange part of the ear in half so it is in the shape of a triangle. Sew the white “inside” of the ear onto the center orange “outside” of the ear.
Sew the ear on between rounds 2. Do the same for the 2nd ear on the other side of the hat. Make sure they’re centered.
