Sew the donut together at the opening in the middle. It is easiest to fill it as you go.

Icing

Chain 20 and join with slip stitch. Be careful not to turn the chain before joining the ends. Start the first round by chaining one, but this only applies to first round. Continue:

Rnd 1: *1 sc, 1 inc* x 10 (30)
Rnd 2: *1 sc in each stitch* (30)
Rnd 3: *2 sc, 1 inc* x 10 (40)
Rnd 4: *1 sc in each stitch* (40)
Rnd 5: *3 sc, 1 inc* x 10 (50)
Rnd 6-7: *1 sc in each stitch* (30)
Rnd 8: This round is crocheted in sequences:

When you have to make a “drip”, chain and follow the sequence in () back, starting in 2nd stitch from hook. All sequences end with a slip stitch in stitch from where you started:

1 sc – chain 4 (hdc, hdc, hdc) – 4 sc – chain 5 (hdc, dc, dc, dc) – 7 sc – chain 3 (hdc, hdc) – 2 sc – chain 4 (hdc, dc, dc) – 9 sc -chain 5 (hdc, dc, dc, dc) – 3 sc – chain 3 (hdc, hdc) – 6 sc -chain 4 (hdc, hdc, hdc) – 7 sc – chain 5 (hdc, dc, dc, dc) -10 sc – slip stitch

Sew your incing on your donut. Place it on top and sew it first center to center and then along the edge. If you wish, you can add the sprinkles.

So there you have it, my fellow crochet enthusiasts – a deliciously adorable donut pattern that will satisfy your sweet tooth without packing on the pounds!

Did you know that according to a study by the Craft Yarn Council, 38% of crocheters are under the age of 35? It’s great to see younger generations getting involved in this timeless craft. Crochet is not only a fun hobby but also has numerous benefits such as reducing stress and improving cognitive function.

As for me, nothing beats the satisfaction of creating something beautiful and unique with just a hook and some yarn.

So grab your materials and let’s get crocheting! Happy stitching!
