Adorable Alien Monster Amigurumi Pattern

Hello, my dear fellow crochet lovers! Today, we’re diving into a pattern for an adorable little monster. Though it’s simply labeled a ‘monster’, its appearance definitely screams ‘alien’ to me, which is why I’ve lovingly placed it in that category. Those eyes on long legs give it such an otherworldly vibe, don’t you think?

The pattern itself is quite straightforward. You’ll need your main color yarn—where the sky’s the limit on your imagination—a few additional colors, some eyes, and, of course, your trusty crochet hook. We’ll crochet the body, eyes, fins, and then stitch them all together.

Just like that, your very own monster (or shall we say, friendly alien?) is ready to meet the world.

Teeth x2

Color white.

Rnd 1: make 3 sc in Mr, ch 1, turn over
Rnd 2: make a sc in the first st, (sc, ch 1, sc) in the next one, and end with sc in the last st (5)

Finish off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Back Fin

Color B.

Make 3 fin tips (but don’t cut off the yarn in the last one):

Rnd 1: 6 sc in Mr (6)
Rnd 2: (2 sc, inc) x 2 (8)
Rnd 3: sc around (8)
Rnd 4: (3 sc, inc) x 2 (10)
Rnd 5: sc around (10)

After finishing the last one, join the three as follows:

Rnd 6: with the last fin tip you have made still on your hook, make 1 sc into any stitch of the second fin tip to connect them together. Continue by making an additional 4 sc on the middle tip, 10 sc on the remaining tip, 5 sc on the middle tip and finish with 10 sc in the first tip (30)
Rnd 7: sc around (30)
Rnd 8: (3 sc, dc) x 6 (24)
Rnd 9: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)

Finish off and stuff the back fin. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Rnd 2: inc around (12)
Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6 (36)
Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6 (42)
Rnd 8: (6 sc, inc) x 6 (48)

Rnd 12: 18 sc, 18 BLO, 18 sc (54)

Rnd 17: (7 sc, dec) x 6 (48)
Rnd 18: (6 sc, dec) x 6 (42)
Rnd 19: (5 sc, dec) x 6 (36)

In rnd 20 we’ll add the fins and decrease at the same time. Position the first fin in the 10th st while you’re counting and the second one in 20th st. So you’ll have 8 sc before the first fin, then 6 st for the fin, 4 st between both fins, 6 st for the second fin and finish with 5 st

Rnd 20: (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30)
Rnd 21: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
Rnd 22: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
Rnd 23: (sc, dec) x 6 (12)
Rnd 24: dec around (6)

Finish off and stuff the body,

For the mouth, make 18 sc on the FLO in rnd 12 with the bottom turned to you.
