Adorable Frog Keychain Free Crochet Pattern

Hello, my dearest crochet enthusiasts! Today, we’ve got a truly unique pattern on our hands – an adorable frog keychain pouch! This cute amphibian will leap right into your heart! So, grab your crochet hooks in two sizes and two colors of yarn. As you can see, this isn’t just any keychain; it opens and closes, and I bet it’s unlike anything you’ve crafted before. That’s why it’s a fantastic opportunity to dive into something new with this pattern.

You might think it looks not very easy at first glance, but trust me, this pattern isn’t as daunting as it seems. All you need are some basic techniques like the magic ring, single crochet (sc), increase (inc), and decrease (dec).

So, prepare your hooks, and let’s get started on creating this wonderful froggy!

Merge Eyes

We join the two humps together and single crochet around as follows:

Rnd 4: hold the first eye piece with the last stitch of that round facing you. Make a single crochet into the first stitch of that round, keep the long fastened-off yarn and the marker yarn hanging free on the outside of your work, between the joining point of the two eyes. We will use this marker yarn as a marker. Make 7 more sc on the first eye.

Make a sc into the next empty stitch on the first eye and continue to work single crochet stitches in every stitch around the second eye (16 stitches and both pieces are joined together)

There will be a small hole between the eyes which you will stitch closed later, wewill use the hanging yarn between the eyes for this aim.

Rnd 5: sc in all stitches (16)

Sew the gap between eyes by using the hanging yarn from the first eye with a tepstry needle.

Rnd 6: sc 4, inc, sc 6, inc, sc 4 (18)
Rnd 7: inc, 8 sc, inc, 8 sc (20)
Rnd 8: 5 sc, inc, 9 sc, inc, 4 sc (22)
Rnd 9: (2 sc, dec) x 5, 2 sc (17)
Rnd 10: (sc, dec) x 5, 2 sc (12)

Sew one piece of the sew-on snap fastener on the frog next to its left eye and sew the other piece of the snap fastener on the lock part. Let’s bury the yarn ends in the work.
