Oh, talk about getting into the holiday spirit! I stumbled upon this absolutely adorable candy cane Christmas decor crochet pattern online, and let me tell you, it’s a real charmer. There’s something truly magical about creating these little festive beauties, knowing they’ll bring smiles and a good dose of cheer to any room they grace.
So, here’s the scoop: you’ll need some red and white yarn – think classic candy cane vibes – and a crochet hook. You’ll work in delightful spirals, alternating between the two colors, to give it that iconic twisty look; it couldn’t be more perfect if it tried! As you go, you’ll feel that sweet anticipation build—just like when you were a kid—waiting for that first pepperminty treat of the season.
But, oh, the best part? This little project is a breeze, making it an awesome quick-fix for when you need a break from those larger, more head-scratching patterns. Perfect for decking the halls or jazzing up that Christmas tree. Plus, they’re so irresistibly cute, you might just find yourself whipping up a whole batch to gift to friends and family.
Because, let’s be real, who wouldn’t love a little handmade holiday happiness?

Rnd 2: inc (white), inc (red) x 3 (12)
On this row you should end up with 6 white and 6 red stitches.
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc (white), 1 sc, inc (red)) x 3 (18)
Rnd 4: 1 sc (red), 3 sc (white), 3 sc (red), 3 sc (white), 3 sc (red), 3 sc (white), 2 sc (red) (18)
This will start the swirl. Add 1 sc red over the white sc of the previous row and do the same for the white over red (just moving the colors with 1 sc forward. In a couple of rows you will see the swirl forming.
Make sure you fill the candy cane as you go along.
Rnd 5-54: 18 sc, chaining between red and white color yarn (18)
You need to cut a small piece of wire (around 10 cm) and place it safely inside the cane. Make sure the ends are not sharp (add a bit of tape, hot glue or wax so it is a bit safer).
Rnd 55: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12) Make sure the 1 sc and dec are in the same color.
Rnd 56: dec x 6 (6) When you dec make sure you dec with 2 white sc and then with 2 red sc, sp the colors correspond.
Fasten off, weave in the ends.
