Oh, honey, have I got something charming for you! Picture those little ones, their hands filled with tiny treasures, and now imagine a cute, orange-slice handbag dangling from their tiny arms. Every little toy, every tiny trinket, has a story, right? Well, so does this handbag. I was inspired by the magic of playtime and the vivid imagination of kiddos.
I felt a wave of nostalgia, thinking of summer afternoons when the air smelled of freshly squeezed orange juice and children’s laughter. This isn’t just a toy tote; it’s a holder of memories, a keeper of secrets, and oh, the looks of glee when those little hands reach into the bag! It’s a blend of joy, fun, and functionality, and trust me – every kid will want one.
With its vibrant color and playful design, this is more than just a handbag. It’s a journey back to childhood. So, fellow crafters, if you’re keen on stitching together a sprinkle of magic and a dollop of fun, here’s your golden ticket.

We cut off a piece of thread in advance (the color of the strap) or we collect the necessary chain. THis is the lengsy of our strap. Leave the tips longer for sewing.
Start with white.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in Mr (6)
Change yarn color to orange. We cut the white thread, but leave a long thread (about 40 cm) for embroidering slices.
Rnd 2: (sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Rnd 3: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 8 (32)
Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 8 (40)
Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) x 8 (48)
Rnd 7: (inc, 5 sc) x 8 (56)
Rnd 8: (6 sc, inc) x 8 (64)
Change yarn color to white.
Rnd 9: 64 sc (64)
Change yarn color to orange.
Rnd 10: 64 sc (64)
Do not forget to embroider the slices in white.
We continue to crochet the strap: in the next loop we make sl st and dial 2 ch and crochet 1 dc into it, then 7 more dc into each loop.
In the next loop, we attach one side of the strap (so that in the first loop we continue with a double crochet). We skip 12 loops and in the 13th we crochet the end of the second strap.
Next, continue dc along the purse, 8 dc, skip 2 loops and connect the second half of the purse withe the strap 8 sl st. If the strap is the color of the handbag, then you can walk sl st on the strap, and if it’s white, it’s better on the handbag, it’s more cute.
We finish the second part after the strap, connect the bag and strap 8 sl st, and leave 2 loose loops at the end.
Cut the thread, fasten and hide.
