  • Safety eyes 6 mm
  • Stuffing
  • 3 mm crochet hook
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors
  • Darning needle

Sc – single crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
BLO – back loop only
Inc – increase
Dec – decrease

Head / Body

Starting from the top of the mushroom and working down. Start with yarn A.

Rnd 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: inc x 6 (12)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18)
Rnd 4: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, 1 sc (24)
Rnd 5: (3 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (30)
Rnd 6: 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc) x 5, 2 sc (36)
Rnd 7-15: sc all around (36)

You will be changing to yarn B into the last sitch of the next rounds.

Fasten off end’s inside.

Rnd 18-21: sc around (22)

It’s a good idea to stuff the round part of the head now.

Eye Placement

Turn your work so that the joins are at the back. Counting down from the front of the mushroom insert eyes between row 19 and 20 leaving 4 stitches apart and stuff the face part slightly.

Rnd 22: BLO (1 sc, dec) x 7, 1 sc (15)
Rnd 23: Stuff the face lightly if there is space. (dec) x 5, cut the yarn pull through leaving enough to weave though the last 5 stitches, pull closed then fasten off.

Toad Spots x5

Using yarn C.

Rnd 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: (inc) x 6 (12)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)

Then 1 sc, then sl st and fasten off.

You can now either sew or glue the spots into position.
