Adorable Christmas Mittens Free Crochet Pattern!

Oh boy, have I got a treat for you fellow crochet enthusiasts? You know that feeling when you find a pattern that makes your heart skip a beat like it’s been touched by a snowflake? That’s the vibe I got when my eyes landed on this small red Christmas mittens pattern.

I mean, imagine those tiny hands or even yours—we don’t judge size here—encased in the splendor of yuletide red, each stitch a whisper of the joyous season. The cuff?? Scrumptiously ribbed for that snug-as-a-bug fit. And the holiday motifs dancing along the back? Simply divine. It’s like frolicking in a winter wonderland without even stepping outside.

Whip a pair while you’re nestled by the fire, and feel the warmth spread to your smile. With these mittens, you’re not just spreading Christmas cheer but weaving it, one loop at a time. So grab your hook and some merry red yarn, and let the holiday crocheting commence!

Start with the thumb in red:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in Mr (6)
Rnd 2-4: 6 sc (6) 3 rounds

Fasten off and put it away.

Now crochet the fist:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a Mr (6)
Rnd 2: 6 x inc (12)
Rnd 3: 6 x (sc, inc) (18)
Rnd 4-8: 18 sc (18) 5 rounds

Don’t cut the yarn, join the thumb to the fist with a sc into the thumb. This will be the first stitch of round 9.

Rnd 9: 24 sc (24)
Rnd 10: 8 x (sc, dec) (16)
Rnd 11-12: 16 sc (16) 2 rounds

Crochet 2 additional sc and close with a sl st into the BLO of the next stitch. Fasten off leaving a long loop. Knot the loop close to the mitten to create the hanger.

Change to fluffy yarn. Start in the FLO of the last stitch with a sl st and chain 2. Start the next round in the next stitch.

Rnd 13: 16 dc (16)

Close with a sl st into the first dc of the round. Fasten off and hide the tail.
